Civil engineers design the infrastructure that makes the world work. Hamilton’s hometown civil engineers – Roberts Engineering Group – accepts challenges throughout the Northeastern states. From the property line survey you need when buying or selling your home to drinking water and waste water systems, roadway improvements, grant writing for municipalities, or site planning and development, the staff at Roberts Engineering Group stands ready to guide you through all the steps to make your project a success.

Carmela Roberts brings 40 years of experience to civil engineering projects throughout New Jersey with more than a dozen engineers, surveyors, and inspectors as part of her team, each of them with specialized experience to take on any challenge.

“We are civil engineers and land surveyors doing work for private individuals, land developers, and municipalities,” Roberts says. “We can do a property survey for your quarter-acre lot in a subdivision or that 700 acre farm you want to place into conservation. We also do FEMA flood elevation certifications and work on design and infrastructure for subdivisions.”

West Windsor Township called on Roberts Engineering Group to design a proper field for the very popular sport of cricket. “We were happy to take on this project – a first for us – although there is a challenge in designing a cricket field because there are no international standards for the size of the whole playing field,” Roberts said.

“The area of the field called the pitch is standardized, but the size of the rest of the field is up to the local cricket group.”

Roberts Engineering Group regularly wins awards for their designs, including a recent award from the NJ Society of Municipal Engineers for an ultraviolet disinfection system in Hightstown which neutralizes microorganisms in the wastewater plant while eliminating the possibility of harmful byproducts.

“We design engineering solutions for both drinking water and wastewater systems for towns, along with the water and sewer mains, roadway design and improvement, and greenways. We pride ourselves on making life better and easier for people throughout the area,” Roberts said. “We take a special interest in writing successful grants for towns to help them finance projects that improve the life of their residents.”

Designing streetscapes – the visual elements of a street including the road, sidewalks, landscaping, building facades, and open spaces – has been an important and award-winning part of the work of Roberts Engineering Group.

“We’ve won awards for our unique and attractive streetscape upgrades in Pennington, Allentown, and Hightstown recently,” Roberts said. “We enjoy the challenge of making a street the sort of place where you want to walk or just sit and enjoy your immediate surroundings.”

Hamilton residents can see the expertise of Roberts Engineering Group staff with recent road improvements on Vincent, Steiner, Arbor, and Chewalla Avenues, as well as the on-going work that will bring improvements to Hughes Road.

“We take a special interest in stormwater management by designing pumping stations and designing bulkheads to ensure water flows where it should,” Roberts said. “We extend our drinking and wastewater operations by designing generators for towns to keep water and sewer operations going when the power fails.”

Heading into its sixteenth year, Roberts Engineering Group is poised to continue its path to success in New Jersey and surrounding states.

Roberts shows her pride by saying “I was running engineering companies for other people for years without being able to enjoy all the benefits and successes. With my own company, I created the ideal team to meet the needs of our customers. I’ve got the best group of engineers and professionals right now – very smart, very dedicated men and women. Our company is at its best right now. Our professionalism means we can take on varied challenges and ensure that things work the way they should.”
